Twisted X Brewing Co.

Remember Barbed Wire? Well they are Twisted X Brewing Co. now. I heard about this yesterday from Liquid Austin. I like the new name better. Logo is kinda cool too. If they don't make it with the whole beer thing, maybe they could start a texmex heavy metal record company.

SA Austin Pub Crawl, Part 2

I have not been to any of these bars. Looking forward to it . . . From Saint Arnold:

SATURDAY, JUNE 19, 6-10pm-The Saint Arnold Austin Pub Crawl II!
This time we will utilize our "open house" schedule for the first 3 stops. This means that we will be punching tickets at the first 3 stops for three hours so you can enjoy a beer at each stop with only a quarter of the people crammed into each establishment. You will get your ticket at whichever stop you decide to visit first. But, VERY IMPORTANT, we will only be handing out the tickets between 6pm and 7pm. Thus, you still need to start between 6 and 7. Then, at 9pm, everybody will gather at one final stop and that is where we will award the super special Pub Crawl glasses-the prize for making all 4 stops! And as always, designated drivers are both eligible for the award and encouraged to attend (Root Beer available!)!
So here is the layout:

Think 'Texas' Habana-700 blk. E. 6th Street (west side of I-35)
http://is.gd/crS5O
Don't get 'Side' ways! 600 blk. E.7th Street (west side of I-35)
http://is.gd/crS2y
Lady 'Liberty' stays here! 1600 blk. E 6th St (east side of I-35)
http://is.gd/crSac
A fictional place from 'Lost Horizon'-1000 blk. East 6th Street (east side of I-35)
http://is.gd/crRY8
This last stop is where we will reward the folks completing the pub crawl with a fine Pub Crawl glass!!

Remember that cash is helpful, be kind to your waitstaff, and always, always appear in public enjoying a Saint Arnold. We hold those that arrange for transportation to and from or use designated drivers in the highest regard!

*Note: We encourage getting a base down before hand or during the crawl, so the first place on the list has food, and there are numerous cool food trailers all over the crawl route!l

You Ain't Fishin' if You Ain't Drinkin'

The title of this post is a country song we wrote whilst on our most recent fishing trip in Florida. This post is actually kind of rip off of BTA's Because You Like Beer. Because you like beer, you like fishing. Right?

Now, one thing that sucks for a beer drinker about fishing is that most likely you have to get up early. And last night, let's say, you had a few. This is hard. But never fear, there is plenty of beer on the boat.

Then there is the manual f-ing labor of actually pulling in the fish.

The rewards are nice.

Oh wait, I meant the rewards. A beer. Or ten.

Fish on.
