The Penguin and the Bismark

Happening at the High Ball:

We will pour 3.5oz of Tactical Nuclear Penguin and 1.75oz pour of Sink the Bismark respectively and pair with complimentary snacks as well as tossing in another taster or two of another fine craft beer.
Not for me, but maybe you'd like to go.

Tickets ($55)

ugh

The End of History from BrewDog on Vimeo.

Ahhhhhhhhh. On and on. 55%. 500 pounds. Dead squirrels.

No thanks. Obviously, it is all gimmicks and marketing. But guess what, it is working. Every beer blog in the nation is going to post this video or link to the story. Most will probably think it's stupid. Some will like it. I happen to like BrewDog, but I wish they would stay away from such gimmicks. Then, I'm bipolar, I think, who cares, they are having fun. It keeps things interesting, right? I'm torn.

Speaking of BrewDog, check this out.

Cool Kegs

It's a copy and paste kind of morning. So enjoy this bit of news from Sam at Flying Saucer:
We got some cool kegs in the cooler and its time to let em fly. I just tapped Mikkeller Tomahawk Single Hop IPA to kick off our new Burley Beer Monday. These beers will NOT be on our Pint Nite Special, but 50+ other brews will be! We also have Avery Czar being poured through a Randall with Espresso Beans this Thursday 3-18.

Upcoming Monday tappings:
3-15 Mikkeller Tomahawk Single Hop IPA
3-22 Mikkeller Amarillo Single Hop IPA
3-29 Bear Republic Apex IPA
4-5 Stone/Brewdog Bashah
4-12 Deschutes Jubel 2010 (Had it a Draught House already, and it was quite tasty)
4-19 Avery Collaboration not Litigation
4-26 Stone Oak Aged Bastard 09

Sink the Bismark!

Sink the Bismarck! from BrewDog on Vimeo.

This whole one upping each other on having the highest ABV gimmick is kind of dumb. At least Brew Dog is making some fun out of it. So I guess, keep it up.

Mikkeller

Word is, Mikkeller is coming to Texas. Alright. That's fine. Over-hyped euro craft beer if you asked me, como Brew Dog.

Didya Know

BrewDog is in TX. Yeah, I hadn't heard about this either, till today. Good news, obviously. I'd like some Hardcore IPA for July 4th. Nothing like celebrating our independence with a Scottish craft beer.
