Advocation

Yesterday was the June Austin BeerAdvocate Tasting. Once again it was held outside at the Draught House. And it was sweltering! This was my first time out and I look forward to many more. I was only able to stay for about 30 minutes though, ughhhh. This was the list of beers (other than the fine beers purchased from the bar):

Stone Bourbon Barrel Stout
Captain Lawrence Captains Reserve Double IPA
Houblon Chouffe Tripel IPA
Bells Two Hearted Ale
Hoppin Frog Mean Maraluchi
Full Sail Bourbon Barrel Age
Port Old Viscosity
Unibroue 17
Flat Earth Belgian Pale Ale
Green Flash Double Stout
Pelican IPA
Lost Abbey Avant Garde
Ommegang Witte
Rock Art Magnumus Ete Tomahawkus ESB3
Hanssens Oude Geuze
Stone Vertical Epic 07.07.07
Stone Old Guardian 08
Sweetwater Happy Ending
Legacy Hoptimus Prime
Midnight Sun La Maitresse Du Moine
Duck Rabbit Barleywine
La Rulles Triple

I was there long enough to sample the Stone Stout and the Captain Lawrence DIPA. The stout was straight bourbon. The DIPA was really good, suprisingly smooth.

I supplied the Ommegang Witte. First because it is a good beer for 98 degree weather and second because it is a NY beer where we just moved from (cheese enough). Anyway, I hope they enjoyed the refreshing aside.
