Today I picked up a couple sixers of the muched talked about Saint Arnold's Divine Reserve #6. This barleywine is full of hop flavor and aroma. It reminded me a lot of a Double IPA, which many others have thought as well. Pretty good. Not sure how much I am going to save or try to trade. Either way, I'm gonna wait a few weeks to decide.
Recently I've also had a chance to sample a few cans of Southern Star Pine Belt Pale Ale. I was quite surprised by this one. Hop aroma and a malt flavor. I've read that this is a result of their needed recipe change. I liked it. I was a flavorful, unique pale ale. And in a can no less.
