Another reason we should not being moving to South Austin come February. Oh well. Set to open summer 2010, the plan is to have six movie screens and six taps of house brewed beer (32 taps total). Sounds go0d to me. http://flixbrewhouse.com

This place used to be the only Hastings in Round Rock, TX. I had to check out what it had become. My friend and I went to see a movie there last night (the place opened on June 30, 2011). This place is similar to Alamo Draft House, but newer. The venue has 6 theaters. They serves beer and wine and mostly caters to adults (18 and over), though children are allowed if accompanied by an adult guardian. They have comfy leather chairs, individual tables that slide toward the seat, under counter lights above the table, blue light button to call the wait staff, and no write or place your order (maybe they should have an order form). They don't have a full kitchen yet, but should have one shortly. Since they are new, we got many freebies like popcorn, potatoe skins, chips and salso, etc. The wait staff haven't learned not to stand in front of the customer when serving the food and drinks. Some of the stalls in the ladies' restroom doesn't lock (mis-aligned). They are working thru the kinks, but I expect them to be successful in the future. Nice place. Thank goodness I don't have to drive to Lake Creek or West Anderson locations to catch dinner and a movie.
Also, there is a nice sports bar a couple doors down called Homefield Grill that had a terrific Meditteranean flatbread. Homefield Grill is about a year old.
