Got This Today

@ Central Market for $8.99. Piney at first. Then like sucking on a grapefruit rind. Good though. 20th anniversary worthy, hmmm, not for me. But good. BAers think otherwise.

Shock and Awe! aka Flying Dog Events at SXSW 2010

Beer Town Austin just put this up as well. I almost said forget it, they put it up first, but you know what, NO. Don't they know copy and posting newsletters is my gig. And I think that is what this falls under. There you go folks. A good 'ole fashion blog war.

And I copied this bit straight from them:

JT from Flying Dog just put this out there.

Looks fun.

I’m looking forward to the Raging Bitch. Supposed to be a Belgian style IPA. I like those.

See you there.

Why you gotta be such a RAGING BITCH?

Flying Dog is 20 and in full on bitch mode!

Have not been a fan of most their beers, but they've put some great ones out. This could be one of them. Hopefully.

Before grabbing my Harpoon Oyster Stout off the shelf, I spotted these new-ish beers as well at Brodie Lane Specs.

Canis Major Mixed 8-Pack

Big taste is sometimes delivered in small bottles, just like in Flying Dog Brewery's new(ish) Canis Major Mixed 8-Pack of 7oz. Bottles. Two samples of four bold beers in small puppy-sized bottles. All in one box. Perfect for sharing, sampling and arguing about which one is your favorite. Look for these on the shelves of your favorite retailer, and if you don't see them, ask.
So far I've had the Double Dog (decent), the barleywine (ok) and the Gonzo imperial porter (Damned good!). I do not want to jump the gun, since I have not had the tripel yet, but the imperial porter (baltic porter) is the best of the bunch. It's worth getting the pack just for that beer.

Flying Dog Canis Major Series 8 pack

Just heard from Neal, I think, who runs the Flying Dog Twitter Feed that these will be available in TX. I've been looking forward to trying the Gonzo Imperial Porter for awhile now.

8 pack of 7 oz. bottles, including:
TWO double dog double pale ale
TWO gonzo imperial porter
TWO horned dog barley wine
TWO kerberos tripel ale

We're in the process of rolling this package out nationally. It's been on the East Coast for about 8 months and we're slowly moving westward. And yes, it WILL be available in TX too!

Woody Creek White from Flying Dog

One to look for this summer. Not sure if this is new to Texas. I can not remember it from last summer.
