Twisted X Anniversary Party

Yo Twisted X, let blogger know. I would have posted about this earlier, but instead I had to find out about it from some third rate blog, which has one of the worst names ever. When I started this blog craft beer was the shit. I am not saying it's not shitty now, because it is . . . ;)  But naming the blog Craft Beer Austin was never an option. That is like killing a fly with shotgun. It shows no deftness, no . . . craft. Craft Austin, now that is a name. It's slightly ambiguous. It's not too wordy. But once you are hip to it, it makes sense. Also, it leaves room to talk about other things besides beer, which is nice. But in internet land, that does not matter. SEO is what matters. A boring, blunt name grabs the most eyes. So in the end, I am the loser. No wonder I stopped blogging. BUT I'M BACK! So email your news and events people.

Cinco de Mayo marks the day our first beer was sold 4 years ago. In celebration we are holding our anniversary fiesta Saturday, May 2nd. We are releasing a very special beer, Saison X aged in Cabernet wine barrel for 9 months. We also have a cellar release of our black lager aged in Tequila barrels, SeƱor Viejo. Several casks have been set aside to be released throughout the day.

Ever wonder who makes our beer?? Our brewers will be hanging out at the taproom to chat and answer any and all questions you have about Tex Mex Beer.

Handmade sliders will be served by Hand Helds food truck.

MAY 2, 12pm
Twisted X Brewing Company
23455 W RR 150, Dripping Springs, Texas 78620

Jester King First Anniversary Party

Only one year old and already planning a big party:
We’ve put together a very special beer list for the event that we feel is truly one of a kind. The beer list is a reflection of our philosophy, which is to serve unfiltered, unpasteurized, naturally conditioned beer that embraces nature and the world beyond cultured brewers yeast.

Beer List

Boxer’s Revenge Wild Ale (Casks & Gravity Kegs)
Das Wunderkind! Sour Saison (Casks & Gravity Kegs)
Barrel Aged Sour Black Metal Imperial Stout (Gravity Kegs & Draught)
Barrel Aged Wild Commercial Suicide Dark Mild (Gravity Kegs & Draught)
Wytchmaker Farmhouse Rye IPA (Draught)
Mad Meg Farmhouse Provision Ale (Draught)
Le Petit Prince Farmhouse Table Beer (Draught)
Noble King Hoppy Farmhouse Ale (Draught)
Black Metal Farmhouse Imperial Stout (Draught)
Thrash Metal Farmhouse Strong Ale (Draught)
Bonnie the Rare Berliner Weisse (Draught)

Rare guest draughts, casks and gravity kegs from De Proef, Mikkeller and Ridgeway as well as Bavarian gravity kegs.

Very Special Mystery Guest Keg

Our anniversary party also reflects our philosophy in that we’re using it as a platform to promote other local, artisan businesses. The following local businesses will be in attendance sampling and selling their wares:

Buddha’s Brew
Id Soda
Cuvee Coffee
Texas Tea
Baby Zach’s Hummus
Austin’s Best Soup
Confituras Small batch, locally sourced jams, jellies and preserves
Jaymee Luu Jewelry

We expect a few additional local businesses to join us as well. We’ll keep you posted. For any local, artisans wishing to participate, please e-mail events@jesterkingbrewery.com or call 512-584-9990.

During the party, music and entertainment will be provided by:

The Vintage 15
The Jake Levinson Band
Clyde & Clem’s Whiskey Business
Megan Le Fay (Tarot card reading)

Tickets to our 1st Anniversary Party & Market are $20 and will only be available through online, pre-sale. The price of the ticket includes entrance to and use of the brewery grounds, parking, a spot on any or all of the tours and a souvenir glass. The sizes of our free sample pours will be reduced from our normal tastings so that guests can sample all of the nearly 20 different artisan beers we’ll have available.
Tickets are available for purchase. Congrats JK!

What Happened Yesterday

I usually try to at least post one thing per day. Must have been busy, I didn't even post the easiest of posts - a reminder. Ok, here it is:

REMINDER

UNCLE BILLY'S 4th ANNIVERSARY PARTY IS TODAY (Yesterday I would have said TOMORROW)

Thursday, April 14, 2011

Uncle Billy's 4-Year Anniversary

Like last year, this year's anniversary party is sure to be a good time. Looking forward to trying their anniversary beer:
Our Anniversary Ale is going to be a hoppy Belgian style ale with German Pils malt, a touch of Belgian candy sugar, german hops for the early kettle additions and american hops for the late kettle, dry hop and hop back.
The details:
WHEN: Thursday, April 28 at 11:00am - April 29 at 2:00am
WHERE: 1530 Barton Springs Road

Flying Saucer 3rd Anniversary Party

This Sunday. Not enough info for you? Ok. Sam just posted this on BeerAdvocate:
Original release 512 Bourbon Barrel Pecan Porter. It has been kept cold ~40 degrees since we got it, so I am not worried about that infection problem some people who warm cellared the beer ended up with. We had a dozen bottles and I drank one a month or two ago and there were no issues.

Avery Rumpkin - This beer is going to be bad ass. 13+% ABV Imperial Pumpkin Beer that has been aged in Gosling Rum Barrels. My fellow Cicerone Matt up at the Moth in Dallas has gotten to try it and says it phenomenal and I trust that dudes palate.

Sierra Nevada Grand Cru - A blend of Oak Aged Bigfoot, Celebration and fresh Pale Ale (hopefully bottle recipe but I dont know). This should be a tasty treat.

Other beers tapped will be:

St Arnold Altared Amber (Amber with Belgian Yeast)
Avery Samaels
Avery Mephistopheles
Allagash Four
Dogfish Head Chateau Jiahu
Dogfish Head Pangea
Dogfish Head Theobroma
Sierra Nevada Jack and Kens Black Barleywine

Come out and see us for a delicious day of beer drinking. All beers will be served in 10oz pours (11.5oz snifters) so you should be able to have a few of them and still remember your name.
